The Webb-Waring Institute was originally founded by Dr. Gerald R. Webb, a tuberculosis specialist, and Dr. James J. Waring, Chairman of the Dept. of Medicine of the University of Colo. School of Medicine in Colo. Springs, Colo. in 1924. The institute relocated to CU's medical campus, later known as the CU Health Sciences Center, at Ninth Avenue and Colorado Boulevard, Denver, Colo. in 1952.
